Original corporate gifts for clients

Anyone who receives a corporate gift has already seen the hamper, the bottle, and the logo T-shirt. Original does not mean surprising for its own sake. It means choosing something that fits the relationship, and that you can explain in one sentence as you hand it over.

Uniiku is one of those options: a work by a contemporary artist, in a short edition, dedicated by the artist. It is not the only one, and it does not replace the others.

What a client expects from a corporate gift today

They expect something they can open without a speech. They expect it not to put them in an awkward spot, and not to look like leftover stock. If the gift repeats every year, it stops saying anything about that relationship.

What stays is not only the object. It is the sentence used to hand it over: why this piece, and why this person.

Hampers, wine, merchandise, and experiences

Each one fits a case. None of them fits every case.

A hamper

It fits when the gift is shared at the office or at home, and when the relationship is warm without being close. It is understood at once. The following year it is hard not to repeat it.

Wine

It fits when you know the recipient's taste. If you do not, the bottle says more about the giver than about the person who receives it.

Merchandise

It fits when the brand is the message: a team, an event, a launch. As a gift to a client, the logo usually sits above the relationship.

An experience

It fits one person, or a small group that can meet on one date. With a long client list, coordinating diaries eats the gesture.

When an artist edition fits

It fits when the gift has to stay, and when the person handing it over wants to say something concrete: who made the work, that the edition is short, and that this company is the only one reserving it in this edition.

A gallery, a direct commission, or a print studio can also do that. Uniiku does it this way: the company chooses the work, and the piece arrives framed, with the artist's dedication and a signed seal. The recipient can check who made it. Delivery is in mainland Spain.

You do not need to know about art to hand it over. You need to be able to say, in one sentence, why this work and not a hamper.

What changes when the work has a story

The hamper is gone. The work stays on a wall, and the dedication stays with it: a handwritten note or a short video, with a name or for whoever receives it.

The seal shows the work and the dedication together. That is what you can show as you hand the gift over, without adding a brochure.

How to choose by relationship and budget

The budget depends on the relationship, on the weight of that account, and on the occasion. A year-end gesture for the whole book of clients does not ask for the same thing as a client you have worked with for years.

Before the object, look at three things:

  • Whether the gift is shared or stays with one person.
  • Whether the recipient has to understand it without a long explanation.
  • Whether next year you can repeat the gesture without repeating the object.

Personalisation, the frame, and shipping are part of the gift. They are not an extra added afterwards. If the list is long and the diaries do not match, an experience gets complicated. If the relationship is brief, a hamper is still clear. If what you want to leave is a piece you can talk about, ask for the selection and see whether it fits.
